Khamzat Chimaev knows he will not be invincible in all realms of combat sports.
The UFC middleweight champion is nearing his return to motion, as he headlines the upcoming numbered event in Newark, Latest Jersey.
Chimaev might be challenged by Sean Strickland in his first title defense at UFC 328, but that isn’t the one task that ‘Borz’ has his eyes on.
The undefeated Chechen might be amongst the most recent MMA stars to feature in Real American Freestyle, and he knows that victory will not be guaranteed.
Who wins within the foremost event of UFC 328 on May 9?
Sean Strickland and Khamzat Chimaev finally get the possibility to settle their bitter feud at Prudential Center, can the American beat the champ?
Khamzat Chimaev gives honest assessment of potential wrestling matches against Olympic gold medalists
Chimaev’s signing with RAF was announced through the broadcast of the wrestling organization’s eighth event. Arman Tsarukyan defeated Urijah Faber within the headliner to maneuver to 3-0 under the RAF banner.
‘Borz’ has been training with the UFC lightweight ahead of his upcoming title defense, and he recently discussed the talk between MMA and wrestlers while alongside Tsarukyan following a session with fitness coach Sama Calavitta.
‘Borz’ has welcomed future matches with Olympic champions following his RAF signing. 2016 gold medalist Kyle Snyder green-lit a showdown with Chimaev, calling it the one matchup against a UFC fighter that he would accept.
The at all times confident middleweight king rarely entertains the prospect of defeat, but in relation to facing the likes of Snyder on the mats, he knows it will be a possibility.
“Plenty of people wish to say, ‘’Oh, these wrestlers,’” Chimaev said (h/t Red Corner MMA). “It’s two different sports completely.
“An Olympic champ can beat me in a match. Olympic champ within the cage, I can beat any Olympic champ. Two different sports.
“I respect Kyle (Snyder), (Abdulrashid) Sadulaev, all these guys. Great champs for wrestling, but not MMA,” he added.

Chimaev has yet to have his RAF debut opponent or date confirmed. He’ll likely have that organized soon after his showdown with Strickland on the Prudential Center on May 9.
Plenty of other UFC stars might be competing in the brand new wrestling promotion over the approaching months. That features Olympic champion Gable Steveson, who will make his first outing at RAF09 on May 30.
Just over a month later, Steveson will make his UFC debut at International Fight Week.
