Bully Ray Says Top WWE Storyline Was ‘An Experiment That Failed Miserably’

One of the vital divisive things WWE has done in storyline in recent memory was inserting ESPN star Pat McAfee into the angle between Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42. After being confronted by former World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk on “WWE Raw,” Rhodes appeared on probably the most recent episode of “WWE SmackDown,” and looked as if it would pivot from his feud with “The Viper.” It is a storyline that Bully Ray said on “Busted Open Radio” that WWE needs to maneuver on from, a minimum of within the short term.

“There’s an excessive amount of of a foul taste in people’s mouths in the case of Cody and Randy due to the outside involvement,” he said. “It was an experiment that failed miserably. So miserably that they are allowing talent to speak about it on TV… It failed miserably. I feel you might have to get away from Cody and Randy.”

The WWE Hall of Famer said that if WWE desired to bring things back around, they might book Rhodes and Punk right into a match, after which right on the apex of that bout, they might bring out Orton to RKO them each. Orton could then remind the “American Nightmare” they’ve unfinished business. If there’s one thing he knows WWE doesn’t need right away, nevertheless, it’s more celebrity involvement.

“I feel they should steer clear of dropping Hollywood people into storylines for some time,” Bully Ray said. “They escaped by the skin of their teeth with this one. I feel if they struggle and pull this s*** again, they might have a revolt on their hands.”
