When multiple matches between TNA and AEW stars were announced and canceled, fans believed WWE was behind it. Because TNA had a working relationship with WWE, the corporate may not have wanted the matches. Nevertheless, ex-WWE star Enzo Amore thinks in a different way.
The Ex-WWE Star Blames Bad Booking
Speaking on the newest edition of the “Contained in the Ring” podcast, Amore said,
“I hear lots of chatter on the web—TNA talent are getting pulled off shows with AEW talent, they’re not allowed to work with one another. Why is it that I never have that issue as a producer of Fourth Rope? Because once I produce Fourth Rope shows, we might need Kevin Knight and Leon Slater in the identical match. As a producer, it’s my job to guard Tony Khan, not to guard Carlos Silva, I’m not silly. If I would like to book MJF on a show, I’m not going to book him against Mike Santana, the TNA Champion, unless I actually have perhaps me within the match so I can f****** lose, you already know?”
“So it’s a matter of, we’ve got AEW and TNA talent on the Fourth Rope card each time. It’s on us because the producers and show writers to be sure that everyone seems to be featured accordingly, to look good. I’ll give away a producer’s secret. I used to be in a battle royal where I entered #1 and won. Dolph Ziggler, Elias, Kevin Knight, EJ Nduka on the time in AEW, Leon Slater. All these people were in that battle royal. It’s on us to say, ‘Okay, you eliminate you, you eliminate you,’ this manner Kevin Knight doesn’t need to eliminate Leon Slater, and each guys have titles and work for various firms, and we don’t put ourselves in a pickle as producers and pick up the phone and listen to bulls***.”
“How about everybody wins? Everyone goes over and appears strong. Why on this planet would I ever let an indie have Nic Nemeth vs MJF? If I’m Carlos Silva or Tony Khan, anyone who says that’s okay is a f****** idiot. I don’t give a f*** who you’re. That match belongs in MSG—what are we doing? If that’s the case, book them in a triple threat match with a man from the professional wrestling school who’s gonna lose.”
