Clarence Seedorf believes Arsenal must be considered favourites to win the Champions League after Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-4 win against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
PSG edged an exciting match on the Parc des Princes with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele each scoring twice, while Joao Neves scored a header from a corner.
Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano and Luis Diaz found the web for Bayern as PSG squandered a 5-2 lead within the second half.
During his post-match evaluation for Prime Video, Wayne Rooney criticised each teams for his or her poor defensive display and claimed even PSG’s players could be unhappy with the result having conceded 4 goals.
‘I believe Luis Enrique is a top coach so after they had the advantage at 5-2, I believe then he must have said, ‘right, let’s shut up shop, let’s get behind the ball, make it hard, see the tie out’, potentially that might’ve got them to the ultimate but they didn’t, they went for more goals,’ Rooney said.

‘Vincent Kompany has got a really attack-minded team, and I believe you would clearly see they haven’t worked that much on defending because among the goals we’ve seen are schoolboy goals.
‘At this level, we’ve seen some sensible but immature defending, which is crazy.
‘I’d like to play in a game like that but I used to pride myself on defending so I believe I might’ve been upset that we conceded that many goals.
‘I believe overall going into the sport next week, I’d be much happier being Bayern Munich. To depart here with only a goal [behind], knowing which you can rating goals against PSG, you may tighten it up a little bit bit, I believe the advantage is with them [Bayern].’

Seedorf, a four-time Champions League winner, then suggested that Arsenal, who play Atletico Madrid in the primary leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday night, might be considered the strongest team remaining within the Champions League because of their defence.
‘Ask the goalkeepers in the event that they’re completely satisfied. They usually are not completely satisfied, a clean sheet was all the time sacred for goalkeepers,’ Seedorf said.
‘We’ve seen a team like Arsenal making that difference this yr, having so many clean sheets and coming all the best way.
‘So if I needed to indicate one team now, that might be capable to really bring it home due to that capability, actually it’s Arsenal.’
Rooney went on so as to add: ‘I don’t see how, in case you’re a player or a coach, irrespective of in case you’ve won the sport, you go into that game having conceded 4 or five goals and be completely satisfied. I believe there’s got to be questions asked.’
