Martin Odegaard has dismissed suggestions that he could leave Arsenal at the tip of the season.

Arsenal’s captain has struggled with injuries this season and has began just 18 games across the Premier League and Champions League to date.

Odegaard returned from a knee problem at the beginning of the month and the 1-0 win against Newcastle United on Saturday was the primary time that the Norway international has accomplished back-to-back games since December.

Reports have suggested that Arsenal might be prepared to sell Odegaard this summer to be able to finance one other significant spending spree.

Nevertheless, the 27-year-old insists he has no plans to depart Arsenal.

When asked concerning the reports during Arsenal’s pre-match press conference on Tuesday evening, Odegaard said: ‘I don’t know where that’s coming from.

‘My mindset is nearly doing what I can each day to do something special.

‘There’s at all times going to be talk and other people speculating and I suppose that’s normal in football but it surely’s not something I do know anything about.’

Odegaard was also asked about Arsenal’s desire to place their past near misses behind them ahead of the primary leg of their Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid.

‘It’s at all times going to be there until we win it,’ Odegaard said.

‘It’s something you’ve got to live with, we’d like to take the experiences and the teachings and use it in a very good way. That’s an element of football and the journey.

‘We’ve got to live within the moment. In the intervening time, we’re doing rather well. We’re in a tremendous position within the league and within the Champions League. That’s what we now have to deal with: be at our greatest.

‘How are you going to not enjoy it? We’re playing in probably the hardest and best league on this planet, fighting for the title within the Premier League and we’re within the semi-final of the Champions League.

‘It is tough for me to know how you possibly can not enjoy that. It’s what we’ve at all times dreamed about our whole lives, since I used to be a child, That is the very best a part of the season. Everyone seems to be up for it, the energy within the group is amazing.’
