The Boston Bruins have survived Game 5, as David Pastrnak scored in time beyond regulation to beat the Buffalo Sabres. After two brutal losses at home, Boston went back to Buffalo needing a win. Jeremy Swayman was excellent in time beyond regulation, stoning an amazing Alex Tuch likelihood right before the goal. Then, Pastrnak kept the Bruins alive with this filthy goal to beat Alex Lyon.

Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm earned the game-winning assist, throwing a lengthy stretch pass to Pastrnak to create the breakout. Pastrnak picked up the puck on the blue line and charged right for the online. When he got there, he made no mistake, beating Lyon after a series of dekes.
Pastrnak was dominant in Game 1 against the Sabres, scoring a goal and notching two assists. However the Bruins collapsed in that game, allowing Buffalo to steal a win at home. Within the three games after that, plus all of regulation in Game 5, he was held to only two assists. Now, the perennial 100-point scorer has made his mark on the series.
The Sabres were down a forward for many of Game 5, as Noah Ostlund left in the primary period with a lower-body injury. If that injury persists for Buffalo, Boston could benefit from their lack of center depth. Ostlund had also helped unlock their powerplay, which was held scoreless for nearly a month until Tuesday.
Swayman was sensational for the Bruins in Game 5. He was pulled after allowing 4 first-period goals in Game 4 and yelled on the bench for letting him down. Nevertheless that conversation resulted in Beantown, the B’s brought their best to Buffalo on Tuesday and got here away with the win.
