[WATCH] Ryan Rickelton Blasts Fastest IPL Century For Mumbai Indians Against SRH

Ryan Rickelton recorded the fastest century in Mumbai Indians’ IPL history, surpassing the previous 45-ball tons by Tilak Varma (2023) and Sanath Jayasuriya (2008). He achieved the milestone in only 44 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the Wankhede Stadium.

Rickelton dominated from the outset, putting together a 93-run opening stand with Will Jacks. At the same time as wickets fell at the opposite end, his aggressive approach remained unchanged. After reaching his hundred, he celebrated in Chris Gayle style—placing his helmet on the bat before raising it.

He eventually remained unbeaten on 123 off 55 balls, which also stands as the best individual rating by a Mumbai Indians batter in IPL history. Watch the video here:

MI Register 243 in First Innings

Riding on Rickelton’s explosive knock, Mumbai posted an enormous 243 in the primary innings. After Naman Dhir was dismissed for 22, Hardik Pandya joined Rickelton and made an impactful contribution. The MI skipper scored a fast 31 off 15 balls, maintaining the momentum at a stage when the scoring rate had dipped barely as Rickelton showed signs of fatigue.

Following Pandya’s departure, the wicketkeeper-batter regained control and finished strongly, guiding Mumbai to their highest-ever total on the Wankhede Stadium. Hyderabad now require a solid start within the chase.

Travis Head, who has struggled for form recently, will probably be key to providing that start, while Abhishek Sharma will look to proceed his impressive run. Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen may also have to shoulder significant responsibility within the chase.
