In a match that will probably be remembered as one among the best run-chases in IPL history, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets on the Wankhede Stadium. Despite an impressive maiden century from Mumbai’s Ryan Rickelton, the Sunrisers’ relentless batting lineup chased down a large goal of 244 with eight balls to spare.

This victory marks SRH’s fifth consecutive win within the IPL 2026 season, further solidifying their position at the highest of the table. Earlier within the evening, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bat first. The choice bore fruit immediately as the brand new opening pair of Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton dismantled the SRH bowling attack.

Rickelton was in sublime touch, smashing 123 runs off just 55 deliveries*, including 10 boundaries and eight sixes. His century, reached in only 44 balls, is now the fastest by any Mumbai Indians player. Will Jacks contributed a brisk 46 off 22 balls, and a late cameo from Pandya (31 off 15) helped Mumbai post a formidable 243/5 of their 20 overs. For SRH, Praful Hinge was probably the most successful bowler with figures of 2/54.
