Lizzo Faces Heat Over Latest Song After String Of Flops

Lizzo is gearing up for the discharge of a brand-new album, “B-TCH,” set for June 2026. Nonetheless, after facing accusations from her dancers, the pop songstress has did not match the business success of her previous releases. This includes scrapping a previously planned album. Now, she’s released the title track from the upcoming LP, but social media is rejecting it, calling it yet one more flop.

Lizzo released the title track from her latest album on May 1. Notably, this comes after the previous track from the album, “Don’t Make Me Love You,” has failed to achieve traction on the charts in most parts of the world, especially the U.S.

The songstress took to X to share a snippet of the song’s music video. She said within the caption, “This song is devoted to the ladies who get called a b-tch for having boundaries, for being sexual, for speaking up for themselves, for working hard and owning businesses… If we don’t smile and perform on a regular basis, we’re ‘ungrateful.’ If we run a strict program, we’re ‘mean.’”

The music video is shot in black and white, featuring Lizzo with several dancers, all wearing black. Notably, the song interpolates Meredith Brooks‘ 1997 anthem of the identical name.

Fans On X Aren’t Loving The Song

Unfortunately for Lizzo, the fans who replied to her X post weren’t pleased with the song, with some even mentioning the allegations made by her dancers. One person said, “Girl, what number of ‘anthems’ are you gonna pull out of your a-s? Weren’t you a rapper? I suppose that was just for an award.”

Another person quoted Nicki Minaj, writing, “Hang it up, flat screen.” They then included a GIF of an individual doing that very thing. After that, a unique X user alluded to her string of failed singles, saying, “Must’ve run out of Velcro cause uhh..Ain’t nothing sticking.”

A special social media user stated, “This sounds really corny, Lizzo. This I’m a thing was in every single place within the Obama administration, and folks hated it. Now you reheat it?”

Nonetheless, it seems fans on Instagram are a bit more welcoming despite some criticism. One person said on the platform, “Welcome back to the highest.”

Ahead of the discharge of the brand new single, Lizzo took to social media. Not only did the “Juice” singer have fun her birthday, but she also shared her album cover. She said within the caption, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! To have fun, I present to you  — MY NEW ALBUM [is] COMING JUNE 5TH. Wanna get me a present? Pre-order my album, baby!!!!” Lizzo then shared a link for fans to preorder the album.

Regarding the quilt, it’s one in all the only from her discography. It features, over a white background, a hand, complete with long nails, with Lizzo’s position as its middle finger. She also has her arms prolonged up in a celebratory pose.

Based on Apple Music’s listing for the album, “B-TCH” will include 12 tracks. This can be Lizzo’s third album from Nice Life Recording Company/Atlantic.

Lizzo announced plans for a brand new studio album in early 2025. The primary taste of the brand new project, a song called “Love in Real Life,” was released in February. Lizzo appeared on “CBS Mornings” on May 1 to advertise “B-TCH.” Throughout the conversation with Gayle King, she was asked what people don’t understand about it. The Yitty founder said, “I believe there’s an extended list. I believe I is perhaps one of the crucial misunderstood.”

After that, she stated that the general public doesn’t understand that she’s “at all times attempting to help.” Lizzo also said that folks “tone police” her. She added, “Once I noticed that that’s how persons are going to take it, I just stopped. I’ll just put it within the music.”
