The grey SUV smashed right into a crowd of individuals in Leipzig city centre on Monday afternoon.
The vehicle then sped away before the driving force was apprehended, Sachsen Police said.
The town’s mayor said two people were killed. Officials added that two others were seriously injured, with 20 other casualties.
Major Mayor Burkhard Jung told reporters on the scene that they didn’t know anything in regards to the alleged driver or their ‘motivation’.

The automobile had was the pedestrian zone at Augustusplatz within the east German city, near Grimmaische Straße, which results in the principal shopping district.
