Xavier Woods Issues Statement On His WWE Departure

On Saturday, WWE and longtime stars Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods officially went their separate ways, with each side reportedly agreeing to the split.

Kingston’s run with the corporate dates back to 2006, while Woods signed on in 2010. The 2 later joined forces with Big E. in 2014 to create The Latest Day, a gaggle that evolved into some of the completed and fan-favorite factions of the fashionable era.

On Monday, Woods addressed the news in a post on Twitter, writing,

“For the past 16 years, WWE has been my home. It’s where I grew up, found myself, failed, learned, and got to live out things the younger version of me could only dream about.

“Once I first walked into FCW, I just wanted a likelihood to prove I belonged and to bring something different to skilled wrestling. That likelihood became a life stuffed with moments I’ll carry with me perpetually — WrestleMania, championships, King of the Ring, arenas world wide, and the gift of connecting with all of you by being myself.

“The Latest Day gave me a bond with @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE that I’ll cherish for all times. You believed in us, even when our ideas were wild, and since of that, we got to indicate those that being unapologetically yourself is a strength.

“UpUpDownDown became one other piece of that very same mission: a spot for joy, friendship, and humanity. I’m so thankful to everyone, past and present, who helped construct it brick by brick.

“To the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, camera teams, ring crew, everyone behind the scenes, and the props department – thanks. WWE has essentially the most special and hardest working props department that youll ever find. Love you guys and none of this happens without you.

“And to everyone who has been a part of this ride: thanks for believing in me. Thanks for letting me be Xavier Woods. Thanks for giving me the arrogance… to walk away as Austin Creed.”
