WWE United States Champion Trick Williams has spoken about his friendship with Lil Yachty and praised the rapper for his dedication to WWE.
Within the lead-up to Williams’ WrestleMania 42 clash against Sami Zayn, Yachty started to appear alongside the previous NXT Champion. The rapper has continued to feature with Williams even after “The Show of Shows,” and through an appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast, Williams spoke highly of him.
“That is what he told me. He says, ‘Trick, I can not imagine they let me do WrestleMania with you.’ He said, ‘I do not wanna take no shortcuts. I do not wanna go straight to the highest.’ He said, ‘I wanna go to Delaware. I wanna go to Baton Rouge.’ He said, ‘I wanna be certainly one of the boys.’ He said, ‘I really like this business. I have been watching this for years.’ And he desires to be certainly one of the boys,” he said. “That is my boy, man. And it’s crazy because we each have a desire for excellence. We wish to be good. We wish the whole lot that we do to feel like magic. You recognize, that very same feeling that we felt when y’all was doing all your thing within the Attitude Era. Like the whole lot has to feel real to the people. And he loves it.”
Williams also revealed that Yachty desires to follow within the footsteps of other celebrities like Pat McAfee, Bad Bunny, and Jelly Roll and get within the ring.
“And you realize, he said he desires to have a match. Yachty says he wants a match, man. He gonna get in shape, and we’re gonna do that,” he revealed.
Yachty has got physical within the ring since appearing in WWE earlier this 12 months, receiving a Helluva Kick from Sami Zayn on the “SmackDown” after WrestleMania 42.
