Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit says the Gunners ‘would love’ to sign Kylian Mbappe, believing the forward could leave Real Madrid ‘if the choice is made for him’.
Arsenal are closing in on the Premier League and may they beat Paris Saint-Germain within the Champions League final later this month, they can be one of the vital attractive destinations for any player on the move this summer.
Mbappe has been prolific since joining Real Madrid two seasons ago but chaos has engulfed the club this week. Fede Ververde was sent to the hospital following a dressing room bust-up with Aurelien Tchouameni this week with Mbappe himself spotted rowing with a member of the Real Madrid staff recently.
A recent hamstring problem has kept the Frenchman out of the side, although he may very well be available again for Sunday’s Clasico showdown against Barcelona. Mbappe was given day off last week, taking a visit to Sardinia with the club’s permission.
Fans nonetheless were outraged when pictures emerged of the forward relaxing on a yacht with a web based petition calling for him to go away the club now signed by over 32 million Madrid supporters.
Petit believes the one situation where Mbappe leaves the Bernabeu is one where he’s ordered to maneuver on by the club by president Florentino Perez.
In that event, Petit believes Mbappe could be ‘perfect’ for his old side on the left of attack.

‘Arsenal would love Kylian Mbappe and he’d be perfect on their left wing,’ Petit told BOYLE Sports, who offer the most recent Champions League betting.
‘The one reason I believe Mbappe will stay at Real Madrid is because if he leaves without winning a trophy it might make his move a failure.
‘Mbappe has an enormous ego so he’ll probably wish to stay and to prove the alternative. I’m pretty sure about that. I don’t see him leaving Madrid, probably the largest club on the earth, unless the choice is made for him.

‘The one way he leaves is that if Florentino Perez cracks under the pressure. 4 million fans have signed to say they need him to go away the club. That may very well be the tip for Mbappe because Florentino Perez is a political guy.
‘If Arsenal win the Champions League for the primary time then it might change the course of their history and send a robust message within the transfer market.
‘Players would in fact wish to play for the Champions League winners and hope they will go and win it again, it might help them attract Kylian Mbappe if he does leave Real Madrid.’
