Rubina Dilaik Opens Up On Her Postpartum Journey

Looking back at her pregnancy phase, Rubina Dilaik opened up about her postpartum experience. Speaking in regards to the difficulties she faced, she said, “Absolutely, the postpartum is real. The hormones itself, they’re changing the way in which you’re feeling and think, which most of us are unaware of. Only a one that goes through it knows in regards to the changes happening contained in the body. Till February, I used to be extremely down, and I used to be combating my very own self-identity. November, December, January, and February were the hardest-hitting months of my postpartum phase. Even depression could be less in front of the postpartum.”

Rubina continued, “I’ve undergone depression earlier, and now I’ve undergone postpartum. Postpartum is an actual thing. It’s nothing ‘wokism’ ki ab kuch karne ko nahi hai toh isliye you’ll throw around postpartum like ‘Oh I’m not feeling myself, it’s postpartum.’ I’m sorry. It is definitely there. And in the event you dismiss a girl saying yeh normally kuch nahi hota, yeh toh aapke dimag mein hai. Sorry, my friend, you’re not an element of that journey then. I realize it because I’ve just come out of it. I understand what life looks like whenever you’re deep down within the darkest phase of your life. You don’t prefer it. You don’t even like yourself.”

Rubina Dilaik Says Women Are Often Labelled ‘Pagal’ Due To Lack Of Care And Support

Further talking about postpartum, she added, “You don’t need to step out and socialise. The hormones are at the bottom level. How do you handle yourself when, from inside, you simply don’t need to get up within the morning? That’s what postpartum is. And we’re not educated on this sphere. How should we handle it, because we’re not ever made aware of this example? Kisi ne nahi bola tha postpartum kya hota hai. Yeh toh humne suna. We’ve heard ‘Arey yeh toh aise hi depression mein rehti hai, kisi se baat waat nahi karti hai. Ya kuch zyada hi overreact kar deti hai. Maa banne ke baad toh pagal si hogayi hai.’”

Emphasising, she said, “Woh pagal nahi huyi hai. That’s nature’s way of resetting her system. And, in the event you don’t get enough support in that resetting phase, you will likely be labelled as ‘pagal’. You’ll be labelled as ‘oh, she’s turn out to be an excessive amount of.’ You’ll be labelled as ‘Yeh toh humesha hi udaas rehti hai, yeh humesha roti rehti hai.’ Par woh aisa hota kyu hai uske saath? That’s what postpartum is. And in the event you can’t understand, it’s difficult for you to know. And if the others dismiss you, it becomes even harder to navigate that path for yourself.”
