A person within the automotive, who was reportedly also injured, is claimed to have fled on foot.

He then allegedly stabbed one one who tried to stop him before being arrested, Il Tirreno reports.

Footage from the scene shows a badly damaged silver Citroen with its front smashed next to the pavement, with debris surrounding it.

The mayor said: ‘Fortunately, there have been no deaths, but seven people were injured, two of them seriously.

‘One woman will likely should have each legs amputated: she was crushed against the shop window.’

He said the suspect was being questioned on the police station.
