Former WWE NXT Star Reveals How Things Modified When Shawn Michaels Took Over

Shawn Michaels has introduced a special style to WWE NXT since taking charge of the brand in 2021, with Luke Menzies, formerly often called Ridge Holland, detailing what Michaels added to the promotion because the brand’s creative head.

Michaels took charge of “NXT” after Triple H’s health scare, and since taking control of the developmental brand, he has brought in a fast-paced type of wrestling, which Menzies explained in his interview with “Sportshadow Wrestling.”

“So, I’d say that since type of Shawn took over, NXT became more like so much more fast, like faster paced, shorter matches, type of like TikTok style for just like the young generation. They didn’t wish to lose anyone’s interest, which is tough as a wrestler because you need to tell stories, you need to put a while in and make all the things mean something. And it’s hard whenever you’re attempting to get rushed through matches, you understand, but you only got to do your best. I had nice experiences under each, each gave me a chance. So I’m grateful for that,” he said.

Michaels himself discussed the differences between how he runs “NXT” in comparison with Triple H in a 2023 interview, claiming that the roster is far younger than before and that he allows them to have a good time and be goofy.

Holland had the chance to work under each Triple H and Michaels in “NXT,” initially being guided by the previous after joining the promotion in 2018, and later returning to the developmental brand following a stint on the foremost roster, this time with Michaels on the helm of “NXT.”
