Keyshawn Davis Says Devin Haney Is Not Elite

“I just feel like initially, I am going off mentalities,” Keyshawn said to It’s Up There podcast about Haney. “He don’t have that dog. He don’t have that. He just wish to be the best, but he don’t come from the trenches like me. I don’t wish to be the best. I’ll f*** you up, though. It’s a difference.”

Davis also questioned Haney’s overall skill set, saying he sees a fighter who does many things well without having one standout weapon.

“After which so far as his skills, I feel like he’s only one notch under great. He does every little thing good,” said Keyshawn. “He don’t don’t have anything great in his arsenal. The whole lot is just okay. That’s good. That’s good. That’s good. Which makes him a very good fighter. But he just not with the elites of the elites.”

The comments got here during an appearance on the “What’s Up That Podcast,” where Davis spent a big a part of the interview discussing Haney, Gervonta Davis, Shakur Stevenson, and the fallout from missing weight for his canceled fight against Edwin De Los Santos last 12 months.

Keyshawn said he approached Bill Haney earlier this 12 months about making the fight occur, but believes the opposite side has gone quiet since then.

“It’s possible you’ll see the video before. Me and Shakur on the weigh-ins this last fight in January, I walked as much as Bill. Long story short, I’m like, ‘Yo, we going to fight this 12 months, right?’ He said, ‘Man, handle your small business.’ I said, ‘I’mma handle my business. Are we going to fight this 12 months?’ He said, ‘Just stand in your word after the fight.’”

Davis then said:

“After the fight, why I’m not fighting Devin immediately? If you wish to call it a duck, call it a duck.”

He also questioned whether Haney has looked the identical since his loss to Ryan Garcia.

“You don’t think he the identical? The world don’t think he the identical.”

Still, Davis admitted Haney showed toughness by continuing to stand up through the Garcia fight.

“I give him numerous credit as a fighter. That s*** demanding to come back back from.”

The interview drifted into several possible future fights, including matchups with Haney, Conor Benn, Tank Davis, and even influencer-boxing events. Keyshawn repeatedly said he wants the largest fights available and claimed fans are already demanding tougher opposition for him.
