Ryan Paton: “Henrik and Daniel Sedin had some comments on Elias Pettersson. They were asked about him within the off-season and preparation, and whether or not they were directly or not directly to him, saying, “You realize what, everyone must be prepped and able to go by the point training camp comes. That’s the instance that I believe the front office and ownership wish to see from him, and hopefully in some unspecified time in the future it’ll be for him to understand that this summer, that like, okay, because the choice is, well, we were probably gonna need to look and trade you.
But you realize what’s much more upsetting, and possibly embarrassing, is once you hear reports come out and say that there’s, there isn’t a marketplace for Elias Pettersson right away. Just like the guy, you realize what I mean, like he’s a top-tier, must be a top-tier player within the National Hockey League, and teams must be lining up for him. But due to what we heard, and since of what we all know, it just ain’t there.”
