Boxing Influencer Fes Batista Admits Taking His Name/Image From WWE Alum

MISFITS boxe Fes Batista has shared how his name, profession, and even his look was inspired by the previous WWE World Champion turned acting star.

Fes Batista, who shouldn’t be a relation of the WWE alum, will compete on the Fame Fighting vs Misfits Boxing on June 6 against fellow influencer/boxer Kevin Nije.

Talking to “The Sun“, Fes admitted that Batista shouldn’t be his real name, and took it from the wrestler, saying he was obsessive about Batista in his youth.

The ties to Batista began in Fes’ youth after he used the Animal’s signature powerbomb while fiddling with friends at college. He said,

“We were kids, messing around with one another, and I did a move called the Powerbomb on one other student… A few of the little kids shouted, ‘That’s a Batista Bomb.’”

Despite taking his name from wrestling and admitting to copying WWE Batista’s facial hair, a future in wrestling doesn’t seem likely for Fes. He said,

“No, I didn’t do wrestling… but I’m obviously an enormous wrestling fan.”

WWE’s Batista debuted on the major roster in 2002 and would grow to be World Heavyweight Champion within the major event of WrestleMania 21 three years later.

Though initially announced for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2020, Batista bowed out resulting from COVID-19. No timeframe has been given for his induction.
