Erika Watcher: “We are able to discuss all these teams ceaselessly, but let’s just get yet another for you. The NHL Draft is just a few month out from that. Are any teams trying to make a move up the board at the highest of the draft?”
NHL Rumors: Will There Be Many Trades This Offseason
Dave Pagnotta: “Yeah, there are some teams that I consider are curious when it comes to moving up, and there are some teams which are willing to listen on their pick. San Jose has the second overall pick for the second yr in a row. They’re willing to listen on that second overall pick, and it seems like Chicago, as well, can also be willing to listen on that number 4. You have got the five and 6 slots right there.
I feel the Latest York Rangers and the Calgary Flames are two teams which are concerned with moving up, or not less than going to explore those possibilities. Calgary hoped they’d be in a greater position with that pick, actually going to have the opportunity to herald any individual, a solid stud, any individual in there on the sixth spot.
But Craig Conroy goes to look to maneuver up. They’re also open for business, by the way in which. Calgary is willing to listen on quite a lot of different players. So that they’re speaking of creativity earlier, they’re willing to be creative here going into the draft and into the summer, however the Flames need to move up.
The Rangers are going to explore that possibility as well. I feel San Jose is willing to listen on that number two pick. And I’m interested in Vancouver now that they’ve made all their changes within the front office, and so they’re going to shore up their coaching staff. It seems like we may hear something in the subsequent few days with that side of things.
Could There be a Fit for the St. Louis Blue and San Jose Sharks with the No. 2 Pick?
It wouldn’t surprise me if they appear to San Jose to see in the event that they can move as much as that number, two, but I feel numerous teams are willing to have those conversations, and hopefully, as we catch up with to the draft, we see just a few more fireworks than we saw last yr.”
