PharmaServ Express offers medicine delivery — just a faucet away

PharmaServ Express recently launched a novel consumer app that brings medicines on to Filipino homes with just a faucet on the smart phone.

The PharmaServ Express app uses its core specialty in cold chain logistics to deliver a promise to patients: that each medicine deserves to be delivered with care with full temperature control, real-time monitoring, and the peace of mind that what arrives at your door is strictly what your doctor prescribed.  PharmaServ Express President Andrian Perez  shares, “What now we have built for healthcare institutions, we are actually making available to each Filipino home. Providing logistics is one thing but delivering world-class service to our fellowmen is one other thing. This app is our answer to problems which have gone unaddressed for too long—long lines on the pharmacy, incomplete medicines, drug products losing their potency before they ever reach the patient. We curated a system that’s capable of deliver every time and wherever patients need their medicines, so that they can concentrate on what matters most: getting well.”

Within the recent Tech in Wellness Forum organized by Business World which carried the theme “Rethinking Healthcare Access within the Philippines”, Dr. Salvador Pedro Rebullida, PharmaServ Express Medical Director, noted on the positive turn in healthcare access which is slowly being bridged with the collaboration of each government and personal sectors. “The (healthcare access) gap is slowly being bridged by the federal government, private institutions, and even health influencers….” He further reiterated that medicine access, particularly, is a serious global healthcare issue since it involves economics, healthcare infrastructure, and public health.  And when it fails, the implications involve the health of the residents.

The PharmaServ Express app is a transparent example of how that gap is being bridged by the private sector. The app currently offers a big selection of features from prescription achievement of medicines, medical devices and private products, sourced from the patients’ drugstore of alternative inside Metro Manila and nearby areas; expert care from online pharmacists ensuring patients receive the best medicines each time, with skilled guidance built into the platform; assurance of quality of every order, packed in temperature-controlled cold boxes and equipped with an information logger that tracks the temperature of medicines throughout all the delivery journey.

Dr. Rebullida also highlighted in his interview a standard misconception people have about medicine delivery – the perception that medicines are similar to regular goods which could possibly be transported via our regular delivery or courier service and that they might be stored like regular products in regular room temperature.  “While there are some medicines which don’t require special handling,  a lot of medicines require strict temperature control or what we call ‘cold chain’, especially vaccines,” in accordance with Dr. Rebullida. He raised the purpose that a small change in temperature for all these medicines could make them ineffective.  With e-commerce delivery apps that are specially designed for medicines like PharmaServ Express, that issue can be prevented.

The PharmaServ Express delivery app is currently operational inside Metro Manila and in nearby areas in Rizal.
