Talking about how online trolling deeply affects celebrities emotionally and mentally, she says, “I strongly feel that conversations around mental health and online accountability are extremely essential today because celebrities are human beings too. People often casually say, ‘Ignore the trolls,’ without realizing how constant hate, body shaming, personal attacks, and assumptions can mentally and emotionally affect someone. Social media has made people very comfortable saying harsh things without considering that there’s a real person reading those comments on the opposite side.”
Opening up about phases when trolling began affecting her confidence and mental peace privately, she shares, “There have been definitely phases when coping with negativity became emotionally exhausting. Publicly, you are attempting to seem strong because that’s what people expect from you, but privately it could affect your confidence, your peace of mind, and even your sense of self at times. I actually have passed through moments where I questioned myself due to negativity surrounding me. At the identical time, those experiences also made me emotionally stronger and way more self-aware. They taught me the importance of protecting my mental space and surrounding myself with individuals who genuinely support and uplift me.”
