Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Arshad Khan produced a superb catch near the boundary to dismiss Devdutt Padikkal within the IPL 2026 Final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After RCB’s openers got off to a flying start within the chase, GT bounced back with two quick wickets.
Padikkal got here to the crease within the fifth over after Venkatesh Iyer was dismissed. Trying to sustain the attacking approach, the left-hander went after Kagiso Rabada in the ultimate over of the powerplay. He stepped out of his crease and tried to hit the ball over the off-side field, but did not connect properly and only managed to send it towards the third-man region.
Arshad Khan sprinted to his left from the deep and showed great awareness to finish the catch. Despite barely misjudging the ball at first and having to slip on the outfield, he kept his balance and held on to an outstanding catch to send Padikkal back to the pavilion. GT Fight Back as RCB Lose Key Wickets in Middle Overs of IPL 2026 Final
RCB slipped to 63/2 within the sixth over after Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed. Although they were comfortably placed within the chase and the required run rate was not a priority, the batters continued to play aggressively throughout the middle overs and ended up losing vital wickets.
Rashid Khan gave Gujarat Titans a lifeline by dismissing each Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya within the ninth over. On the time of writing, Virat Kohli and Tim David were keeping RCB on the right track, with the rating at 105/4 after 11 overs and the goal still well close by.
