Multinational technology company Intel Corp. said the initial handheld gaming devices powered by its latest Intel Arc G3 processors will likely be available later this month.

Lip-Bu Tan, chief executive officer (CEO) of Intel Corp., made the announcement during his keynote address at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taiwan on Tuesday.

He said the brand new chip, which is derived from the Core Ultra Series 3 platform, delivers high performance while remaining power efficient.

The performance tested across multiple games is consistent and stable versus the competition,” Mr. Tan said. “We’re greater than 40% faster. And at the identical performance, we use half the ability.”

All of those devices will likely be available later this month,” he added.

Among the many first devices powered by the Intel Arc G3 are Acer’s Predator Atlas 8, MSI’s Claw 8 AI+ and OneXPlayer handhelds, which will likely be available in the approaching months, Intel said in an announcement announcing the Arc G-Series processors on May 28.

Mr. Tan said more devices powered by the chip are expected to be introduced all year long.

The Intel Arc G3 together with the Intel Arc G3 Extreme processors, which run on Windows 11, are the primary processors under Intel’s latest Arc G-Series family, a lineup designed to power the subsequent generation of handheld gaming systems, the corporate said.

Some processors within the series will feature Intel Arc B390 graphics based on Intel’s latest Xe3 architecture, enabling real-time ray tracing for high-fidelity visuals and XeSS 3 technology for faster and more responsive gaming performance.

Other notable features of the Intel Arc G-Series processors include an Xbox mode that gives a controller-optimized, console-inspired full-screen gaming experience on Windows 11 PCs, in addition to Intel Precompiled Shaders for faster game launches.

The processors also feature a hybrid CPU design with two Performance cores, eight Efficient cores and 4 Low-Power Efficient cores, built on Intel’s 18A process technology.

The processors also support Intel Wi-Fi 7 R2, dual Bluetooth 6, and Intel Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, offering as much as 40 gigabits per second of bandwidth for high-speed storage, peripherals, and rapid transfers of huge game libraries. — Edg Adrian A. Eva
