The Edmonton Oilers fell wanting the Stanley Cup Final in 2026. Edmonton had made each of the last two Finals prior to the 2025-26 season. Unfortunately, the team was unable to make it thrice in a row. Now, it appears as if the Oilers will lose a few of their veteran contributors in 2026 NHL Free Agency.
“After scoring 21 goals with the Edmonton Oilers this season, it appears like Jack Roslovic can be hitting the free agent next month. Adam Henrique shouldn’t be expected back in Edmonton, either,” David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period wrote on Thursday.
Roslovic was a successful signing in NHL Free Agency last season. The veteran was signed right before the beginning of the 2025-26 season after a 22-goal season in the course of the 2024-25 campaign. He helped provide the Oilers with necessary scoring depth throughout the 2025-26 season. And he proved that his 2024-25 production was not a one-off occurrence.
Henrique, meanwhile, was a trade pickup from the Anaheim Geese on the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 51 points. Nevertheless, his production has steadily declined for the reason that trade. Within the 2026 playoffs, he skated in only one game against the Geese.
The Oilers have the means to exchange each players internally or externally. Replacing Henrique won’t be too difficult, as Edmonton has prospects and other minor league hands who could occupy his fourth-line role. Making up for Roslovic’s lost goals, nonetheless, may very well be a bit more of an undertaking.
In any event, Edmonton appears willing to maneuver forward without these two veterans. How the Oilers go about filling the roster in NHL Free Agency can be intriguing, to say the least.
