Lyons has been picking up considerable steam over recent months since being demoted from NXT to EVOLVE and LFG, with this as a transparent sign that WWE is impressed with how she has improved.
The Divine Feline was tapping out during this match, but referee Vicky D’Errico was distracted coping with Sloane Jacobs at ringside and didn’t see it. Lyons was in a position to capitalize on that confusion, eventually hitting a roundhouse kick for the win to select up her first title in the corporate to date.
