Tahir Abdullayev (21-3) had the gang on his side because the hometown favorite in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Jefferson Nascimento (13-0) did nothing to ingratiate himself with the audience through two rounds.

Fans in attendance at UFC Baku loudly booed because the welterweight duo refused to have interaction throughout the first 10 minutes.

Things got barely higher in round 3, when Abdullayev scored a takedown and landed nasty ground strikes.

Nonetheless, the fight resulted in controversy because the referee stepped in when Nascimento was intelligently defending himself.

UFC commentator Michael Bisping called the premature stoppage ‘awful’, and the remaining of the printed team agreed.

MMA fans took to social media to voice their fury after watching the complete UFC Baku opener.

“Cut them each, plus the ref,” one fan said. “That fight was horrendous. Cut them each.”

“Each of them should be cut after this fight,” a 3rd person commented.

“Awful fight and awful stoppage,” a fourth X user wrote.

“What a s— fight.. and ref. OMG.. that was a humiliation for the UFC,” another person fumed.

“Cut each of those guys immediately,” a sixth fan demanded.
