Casa Amor bombshell Alannah Keyser is breaking her silence after she was faraway from Love Island USA season eight when a video resurfaced of her using the N-word.
Within the video, Keyser, whose final appearance on the show was during episode 20, seemed to be singing along to Roddy Ricch’s 2019 song “The Box,” which included a racial slur within the lyrics.
On Sunday, she took to her TikTok to deal with her exit and the resurfaced clip, saying, “I’m coming on here to deal with some things which were circulating online. I do need to begin by addressing the video of me singing along to a Roddy Ricch song that incorporates a racial slur. I’m sorry to whoever has seen that video and has been offended by it; that was never my intention. The video is from six years ago, and that word is just not in my vocabulary anymore.”
“I do need to say directly that I don’t support racism or discrimination of any kind, and I never have,” Keyser added. “Once I first came upon that this stuff were going around online, it really broke my heart, and I couldn’t do anything about it. But this has definitely been a learning lesson for me, and it sucks that I didn’t get a likelihood to essentially show my personality and who I’m.”
The Hollywood Reporter understands that the resurfaced social media video appears to haven’t been shared publicly until after her appearance on Love Island USA, meaning they weren’t accessible at any time throughout the vetting process.
Keyser is the fourth castmember to be faraway from Love Island USA within the last two seasons because of backlash surrounding resurfaced videos or posts. Vasana Montgomery was removed from season eight ahead of the June 2 premiere when social media posts emerged of her using the N-word.
Last yr, two Islanders were also removed during season seven. Yulissa Escobar was kicked off the show in the beginning of the season after clips of her using the N-word resurfaced online, and just a few weeks later, Cierra Ortega was dropped after receiving backlash for a social media post that showed her using a racial slur.
Recent episodes of Love Island USA, hosted by Ariana Madix and narrated by Iain Stirling, drop Thursdays through Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, with Love Island Aftersun (hosted by Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa) airing every Saturday. Take a look at all of THR‘s season eight coverage here.
