Throughout the post-AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door 2026 media scrum, Tony Khan commented on several topics, including the identity of the person behind AEW’s recent Steel Cage design. He said,
“It was a really cool idea. It was Mike Mansury (who) asked about putting a round steel cage. I believed it was a extremely cool concept so it got here out really good and being on the Forbidden Door and being a deadly cage, we called it Death’s Door. It was a really, very cool idea and it looks great, and I might like to bring it back. So it was a excellent debut for Death’s Door.”
