Ireland fast bowler Jai Moondra dismissed India captain Shreyas Iyer with a superb new-ball spell within the second and final T20I of the series on Sunday. Chasing a goal of 155 on the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast, India got off to a terrible start, losing a wicket at 2/1 in only 0.4 overs.
Coming in to bat at No. 4, Iyer had the responsibility of rebuilding the innings. Nevertheless, he couldn’t make an impact and was dismissed for 10 runs off just seven balls within the third over. Moondra bowled a good-length delivery outside off stump.
Iyer tried to play it through the off side but got a thick inside edge, and the ball crashed into the stumps. The India skipper looked shocked after his dismissal. He stood on the crease for a number of moments in disbelief before slowly walking back to the pavilion.

The 2-match series was Shreyas Iyer’s first task as India’s latest T20I captain. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a disappointing start, as he managed scores of just 3 and 10 within the two games.
Jai Moondra’s early strikes put India on the back foot
Rajasthan-born fast bowler Jai Moondra made his T20I debut for Ireland in the primary match of the series. The left-arm pacer impressed in his first international game, taking two crucial wickets. He continued his nice form within the second T20I by striking on the very first ball of India’s chase.
Moondra trapped Sanju Samson lbw for a golden duck with a pointy inswinging delivery. Opener Abhishek Sharma also departed without scoring after mistiming a pull shot to 3rd man in the identical over. Moondra produced an outstanding spell with the brand new ball, ending with three essential wickets while conceding just 19 runs.
On the time of writing, India were 54/4 after eight overs before rain interrupted play. Ireland lead the two-match series 1-0, and India must win the continued match to avoid losing the series.
