Khamzat Chimaev has implored Sean Strickland to ‘accept the fight’ as he continues to call for a right away rematch.
This past May, Khamzat Chimaev was handed a shock loss when he took Sean Strickland on in his first middleweight title defense at UFC 328.
Within the immediate aftermath of his surprise loss, Chimaev’s brother said his ‘body shut down’ as he blamed the brutal weight cut.
And after such a disappointing performance, ‘Borz’ is hopeful of securing a right away rematch along with his middleweight rival.
Following Sean Strickland’s win over Khamzat Chimaev, how would you intend the subsequent steps at middleweight?
Chimaev tells Strickland to not run as he calls for rematch again
Straight after the fight, Dana White shut down the likelihood of a right away rematch claiming that Chimaev told him he will probably be moving as much as 205lbs.
Despite that, not long after Chimaev officially requested a rematch against Strickland in Abu Dhabi, targeting October.
That, though, was turned down by Strickland, who would likely struggle to be cleared to fight within the Middle East as a result of his unpredictable personality.
And now, in one other try and goad the American into accepting a right away rematch with him, the Chechen has sent Strickland one other message.
“Accept the fight, don’t run, I’ll beat you anyway, the earlier this happens, the simpler it would be to breathe,” Chimaev wrote on X.

Just over a month faraway from his title loss, ‘Borz’ stepped onto the Freestyle Wrestling mats when he took on Dillon Danis at RAF 10.
After beating the controversial grappler, the 2 were involved in an enormous brawl following the match, involving each their teams.
Fortunately for Chimaev, though, his UFC boss wasn’t too moved by the viral brawl, stating that at any time when Danis is involved, something goes to occur.
Nassourdine Imavov will likely have something to say if the promotion does book a rematch between Strickland and Chimaev.
Imavov is on a formidable six fight unbeaten streak and was unlucky to miss out on the title shot this past May.
Nevertheless, because Strickland and Chimaev were involved in such an enormous rivalry, a rematch between the 2 would likely be a more popular fight than a rematch between Strickland and Imavov.
