Following news that Jey Uso’s divorce filing became public, attention has turned to his longtime partner, Takecia Fatu, who has largely remained out of the general public eye throughout the WWE star’s profession.
While Jey Uso is certainly one of WWE’s most recognizable names and a key member of the legendary Anoa’i wrestling family, little or no is publicly known about Takecia Fatu, whose maiden name is Takecia Travis. Unlike many spouses of high-profile wrestlers, she has maintained a personal life with no known public social media accounts and has rarely appeared in interviews or public events.
Court documents revealed that Takecia filed for divorce after greater than a decade of marriage, citing that the connection was “irretrievably broken.” The filing states that the couple married on February 13, 2014, correcting the previously reported belief that that they had wed in January 2015.
Their relationship, nevertheless, stretches back much further. Jey and Takecia first met while attending Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida, where the long run WWE star was also pursuing football. They began dating as freshmen and remained together for years before eventually marrying.
During their longtime relationship, the couple welcomed two sons, Jaciyah and Jeyce, and likewise shared three French Bulldogs. Despite Jey’s rise to the highest of WWE, each he and Takecia consistently selected to maintain their family life away from the highlight.
Although Jey rarely spoke publicly about his wife, he opened up about her importance during a 2020 interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso. Reflecting on his 2018 DUI arrest and the difficult period that followed, Jey credited Takecia for helping him move forward and supporting him through certainly one of the hardest moments of his life. He said,
“My wife is greater than my tag partner, she’s my life partner. I actually have a lot love and respect for her in my heart. She catches the great and the bad, all of the hurt and grumpiness of this business and life. But she gets me ready for this, each week, and she or he has for the past 10 years. We’ve sacrificed together. All my success is her success, too. We’ve done this together.”
It is alleged that Jey Uso has been dating WWE NXT Superstar Jaida Parker over the past few months.
