Sean Strickland has uncharacteristically walked back his recent criticism of Dustin Poirier.

Earlier this week, Dustin Poirier opened up about his recent airport arrest, which unfortunately for him went viral online.

The UFC legend once more spoke openly about his ongoing battle together with his mental health, while explaining how the incident has cost his fame and value him financially.

Despite the widespread support and respect from the MMA fanbase, Poirier was mocked by UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland.

Strickland apologizes after cold response to Poirier admission

Strickland went on to say that male depression isn’t real and that ‘The Diamond’ shouldn’t be depressed due to the money and fame that he has earned.

But after receiving backlash from fans, Strickland has walked back his criticism of Poirier’s situation, somewhat apologising for his controversial outburst.

“I spoke to Dustin and he’s legitimately tousled by his actions I assumed he was just doing PR clean as much as be honest… I suppose not everyone seems to be a bit of s— like me lol. So yeah I repent and I’m sorry Dustin. Hope bud-light does the correct thing with this one. He deserves the assistance,” Strickland wrote on X.

Poirier admitted that he lost one in every of his important sponsors following the arrest video, stating that he continues to be unsure whether other sponsors will follow suit.

Ever since he retired from the game last yr, the 37-year-old has been talking a couple of potential return to motion.

Earlier this week, ‘The Diamond’ revealed that he continues to be under contract with the UFC, and that he can be open to fighting Conor McGregor following his fight this coming Saturday.

Before that becomes a possibility, though, hopefully the UFC legend is in a position to come up with his mental health problems and put any of his struggles behind him.
