BAD LIGHT brought things to an early end at Lord’s on day three as England advanced towards a comprehensive victory over Sri Lanka within the second Test.
Play was unable to resume after the umpires brought the players off at 5:05pm with Sri Lanka 53 for two, requiring an improbable 430 more runs to win.
Under the Lord’s floodlights, England removed each Sri Lankan openers before play was curtailed, and with two whole days of play remaining they are going to remain highly confident of securing their fifth consecutive Test win of the summer.
