WWE’s upcoming SummerSlam 2026 week tryout in Minneapolis is starting to take shape, with several wrestlers and athletes confirming on social media that they’ve received invitations to attend.
Among the many first names announced was Josh Bishop, the present MLW standout who previously held the MLW World Tag Team Championship alongside Donovan Dijak. Bishop recently stepped into The Skyscrapers tag team after Baron Corbin (who wrestled outside WWE as Bishop Dyer) returned to the corporate. The Ohio native began his wrestling profession with AIW.
Also confirming an invite is J-Rod (Jessica Roden), an OVW competitor who gained national exposure as “Supernova” on Amazon’s reboot of American Gladiators. The series featured loads of wrestling connections, with The Miz serving as host and fellow wrestling personalities including Wardlow, Kamille, Jessie Godderz, and former WWE Superstar Rick Boogs appearing as gladiators.
One other wrestler to disclose his invitation is Josiah Jean of Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion. The Houston native, who has also worked enhancement matches for ROH, shared the news on social media while thanking Booker T and Sharmell for his or her guidance. He said,
“Here we go! I’ve been invited to the WWE SummerSlam tryout!! I would like to thank my team and my coaches @realityofwrestling. Thanks to @bookertfivex and @realsharmell for preparing me for this moment. That is the most important step forward to fulfilling a dream I’ve at all times believed in for me. For each mountain I’ve felt I’ve climbed, it’s still only the start. Onward and upward, The Rocket is within the sky!!”

* Colton Theron Vaught (MMA fighter and skilled wrestler)
* Bobby Casale (independent wrestler)
* Brooke Havok (independent wrestler trained by Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall; previously appeared for AEW)
* Nate Prince (independent wrestler from France)
* Kody Lane (independent wrestler)
