The Indian team has reached Harare for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, with the opening game set to be played on the Harare Sports Club on July 23. Ahead of the series, the players have intensified their preparations with training sessions.

VVS Laxman is serving as India’s head coach for the tour. Under his guidance, the squad spent extensive time within the nets, with the concentrate on refining batting techniques, improving strike rates, and sharpening bowling accuracy to suit the demands of T20 cricket.

After arriving in Zimbabwe, the Indian team held its first training session on the Harare Sports Club. Players getting back from the ODI series against England, including captain Shreyas Iyer, are expected to hitch the squad soon. The opening rehearsal focused mainly on fitness and match preparation.

Recognising the importance of fielding in T20 cricket, where catches and run-outs can change the course of a game, head coach VVS Laxman placed special emphasis on fielding drills. He personally supervised the session, guiding players through catching practice and fine-tuning their positioning in the sphere.
