The Calcutta High Court has directed the immediate arrest of Delhi Capitals and Bengal wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel in reference to an alleged rape case, in keeping with multiple media reports. The court also instructed police to confiscate all of Porel’s electronic devices, including those believed to contain the complainant’s private photos and videos.
The 23-year-old is accused of threatening to flow into the intimate material after allegedly engaging in a physical relationship with the girl on the promise of marriage. A case was registered against Porel at Mogra Police Station in Hooghly on June 23, 2026.
What Is Abhishek Porel Accused Of?
In keeping with the complainant, she first met Abhishek Porel in January 2023 and alleged that he took her to his flat in Mankundu, where he entered right into a physical relationship together with her after allegedly promising marriage. She further claimed that she later discovered Porel was involved with multiple other women.
The criticism also accuses him of wrongfully confining her, isolating her, and depriving her of food. The lady alleged that her health deteriorated after an incident in Delhi on April 2, 2026, which required medical treatment. She also claimed to have received threats via social media and phone calls.
The FIR includes serious allegations, including sexual assault, criminal intimidation and other offences. The ultimate legal consequence will depend upon the findings of the investigation and subsequent court proceedings.

Throughout the investigation, the court was informed that a pen drive containing potential digital evidence had already been submitted. Provided that the case involves the complainant’s private photographs and videos, the court deemed it mandatory to secure all electronic evidence to forestall any further circulation of the fabric.
The High Court has also directed the police to step up efforts to locate and arrest Abhishek Porel. Investigators have been instructed to take immediate motion to make sure his apprehension and preserve all relevant digital evidence.

Abhishek Porel is a 23-year-old left-handed wicketkeeper-batter who represents Bengal in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals within the Indian Premier League. He has featured in 116 matches for Bengal and 35 IPL games for Delhi Capitals, who retained him for ₹4 crore.
Porel has denied the allegations levelled against him. The matter is currently under investigation, and the claims made within the criticism haven’t been proven in court.
