Matt Sydal is officially back in motion for AEW.
During this week’s episode of AEW Collision, Sydal competed in his first match for the corporate since 2024, teaming up with Scorpio Sky and Dante Martin as SkyFlight to tackle The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson).
The match marked Sydal’s first in-ring appearance for AEW in nearly two years after making his return to the promotion earlier this June.
The closing moments saw Ricochet get entangled, making a distraction that shifted the momentum in favor of The Lethal Twist. With the interference proving to be the difference-maker, Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson picked up the victory over SkyFlight.
Nick Wayne and El Clon are officially headed to the six-way ladder match at AEW Redemption 2026 after winning their qualifying bouts on the July 25 episode of AEW Collision.
The night featured two qualifying matches to find out the ultimate entrants. Nick Wayne secured the primary spot by defeating AR Fox, putting him away with the Prodigy Plex.
Later within the show, El Clon earned the ultimate berth by upsetting ROH World Television Champion Lio Rush in a hard-fought contest.
With the qualifiers now complete, the AEW Redemption ladder match lineup is about. Jack Perry, The Beast Mortos, Komander, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Nick Wayne, and El Clon will compete for a future AEW International Championship opportunity.
The AEW World Trios Championships will probably be on the road through the AEW Redemption Buy In.
During this week’s edition of AEW Collision, The Conglomeration — Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong — successfully retained the AEW World Trios Championships by defeating Dalton Castle and The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum).
Following the match, the celebration was cut short when The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, Blake Christian, and Lee Johnson), joined by The Demand, stormed the ring and launched an attack on the champions and their opponents.
The post-match confrontation quickly led to a brand new title match being made official. AEW announced that The Conglomeration will defend the AEW World Trios Championship against The Lethal Twist on the AEW Redemption Buy On this Sunday.
