[WATCH]- Yash Thakur Proclaims Himself With Maiden International Wicket in 2nd T20I vs Zimbabwe

Debutant Yash Thakur picked up his maiden international wicket by dismissing the damaging Brian Bennett within the second T20I between India and Zimbabwe in Harare on Saturday, July 25. Chasing an enormous goal of 220, Bennett gave Zimbabwe a fast start with some aggressive and unconventional shots that put the Indian bowlers under pressure.

Nonetheless, Yash Thakur had the last laugh in his second over. Seeing Bennett shuffle across the crease, Thakur bowled just outside the off stump. The batter tried to play a reverse scoop but couldn’t connect properly and only managed to lob the ball straight up.

Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan calmly moved just a few steps forward and accomplished a straightforward catch. Thakur was thrilled after taking his first international wicket, and his teammates rushed in to congratulate him. Watch the video here:

Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma Star as India Cross 200

India were put in to bat first after Shreyas Iyer lost his first toss as T20I captain. The visitors had a poor start, losing each their openers throughout the first three overs. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer then steadied the innings with a 50-plus run partnership.

While Iyer couldn’t benefit from his start, Kishan and Tilak Varma took control and dominated the Zimbabwe bowlers. Kishan led the charge with an aggressive innings, scoring 81 runs off 49 balls at a strike rate of 184.09. His knock included nine fours and two sixes.

Tilak Varma provided the right of entirety, remaining unbeaten on 60 off just 29 deliveries.He hit five fours and three sixes during his entertaining innings. Due to their good knocks, India finished with a commanding total of 219/5 in 20 overs. Leading the three-match series 1-0, the Men in Blue were seeking to seal the series with one other victory.
