Larry the Cable Guy was hospitalized for a health scare, causing production on his latest TV show to be suspended.
The comedian, 63, was forced to pause production on American Mayhem after being diagnosed with appendicitis. He was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, July 25, in keeping with an announcement.
“I can confirm that Larry was hospitalized with appendicitis,” a spokesperson told the Day by day Mail. “He was discharged today and is recovering well. He’s in good spirits and feeling significantly better.”
Larry the Cable Guy, for his part, offered his own update via X on Sunday, July 26.
“Getting a variety of messages so simply to let ya know I’m all good,” he wrote. “I had major stomach pain and seems I had appendicitis.”
He continued: “It was removed and after 2 days within the hospital I’m home and recovering. Pretty sore but vitals good, my butt looks incredible and now just taking stool …”
Before getting his appendix removed, Larry the Cable Guy was filming episodes of his CBS series, American Mayhem. In response to a press release, the 52-episode run is scheduled to be released this fall.
The “high-energy clip show” will have a good time “the wildest, funniest, and most outrageous moments caught on camera across the U.S., all dropped at life by the beloved funnyman whose unmistakable voice and humor have made him a household name.”
Earlier this month, Larry the Cable Guy spoke to Us about finding the balance in terms of doing stand-up comedy in a divided political climate.
“We live in the USA of America — anyone doesn’t wish to like your act then don’t go see that person’s act. It’s so simple as that,” he exclusively told Us.
Larry the Cable Guy noted he doesn’t “worry about it” when he performs in a “woke” America.
“I already got a reasonably good, built-in following and I got some awesome fans,” he shared. “You already know, if I believe it’s funny I’m going to do it and we’ll see where it goes. When you let it hassle you, yeah it’s going to be tough.”
He further added that comedy comes right down to personal taste, adding, “That’s the entire key right there. When you don’t prefer it, it’s like soda pop. Find the one you want and don’t bitch in regards to the others.”
