WWE interviewer and correspondent Cathy Kelley recently shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about potential plans for Friday Night SmackDown.
Appearing on a recent edition of the “Notsam Wrestling Live!” podcast, Kelley revealed that she recently participated in a gathering with a representative from the USA Network, where the discussion centered on expanding the network’s WWE-related programming now that SmackDown has returned to a two-hour format. She said,
“I mean, I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this but, several months ago, I had a gathering with someone from USA Network they usually were talking about expanding their content after SmackDown because now that it’s two hours, they’ve that extra hour to fill they usually want it to be something that may still maintain the WWE viewership. But additionally, have a distinct aspect of entertainment involved… Adjoining to wrestling, you realize?”
“I said to them, ‘I might like to do a food show. I don’t know if I’m the precise qualified host to try this.’”
“We might need to space this out where I might only find a way to eat all of that yearly.”
