Addressing Nikhil directly, she said, “I feel so sad for them that they don’t even know the fundamentals of how sensitive this issue called menopause and perimenopause is and what women undergo. And for somebody like Nikhil Chinapa to say that as a comeback to my viewpoints… it’s shocking.”
She clarified that her comments were solely about Nikhil’s performance in the sport, not his personal life. Gauahar also mentioned that she has at all times respected him and spoken highly of him to her husband, Zaid Darbar, who can be a contestant on Alliance.
She further criticized Nikhil’s tendency to dismiss women’s opinions by linking them to hormones or age, saying, “You’re assuming that I’m at an age where I have to be going through menopause or perimenopause, and that’s why I even have those viewpoints. The controversy began after Nikhil, in an interview with Telly Masala, discussed Gauahar’s social media posts supporting her husband Zaid Darbar during Alliance. Gauahar had previously accused Nikhil’s co-contestant Mini Mathur of bias towards Kushal Tandon, claiming that Nikhil and Mini were colluding relatively than giving other contestants a good shot.
In response to an issue, Nikhil revealed he didn’t know Gauahar personally but had heard from Zaid that she thought highly of him.
