Ronda Rousey changes tune by leaving door open for one more MMA bout months after successful return

This past May, Ronda Rousey shocked the MMA world when she competed for the primary time in over 10 years, headlining MVP MMA‘s inaugural event against Gina Carano.

Within the aftermath of their first MMA event, MVP talked about some potential future headline fights, and Rousey was a part of those plans.

The previous UFC champion then went on to say that she would ‘clean’ Holly Holm’s ‘clock’ in a possible rematch of their 2015 title fight.

And now, the 39-year-old has once more left the door open to a possible future return, stating that even when she isn’t fighting on MVP MMA’s next event, she would love to be a part of it.

“We’ll see (if I’m gonna be a part of MVP MMA 2),” Rousey told The Fight Culture.

“We’d like to sort of like, reconvene and see what the long run looks like, I feel everyone seems to be just sort of decompressing and giving back to post that vast of an event fight-life.”

Ahead of her MVP MMA clash, Rousey was extremely critical of the UFC on multiple occasions for passing up on the fight together with the best way they’ve been running their promotion over the previous couple of years.

Not only that, but she consistently sent verbal attacks on the UFC’s Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell, claiming that he attempted to sabotage her return.

Again, the previous UFC star has criticized the promotion, this time for the proven fact that they host events every week, calling it ‘background noise’.

“What I hope (MVP MMA) do, with or without me, is that they proceed to make their fights an enormous event, each one an enormous event because that’s what’s missing in MMA, it’s just becoming on every weekend, background noise.

“It was extremely validating (for it to have been so successful), especially as Hunter Campbell told Gina that he didn’t understand how he was gonna market a few 40-year-old’s, so it was very nice to throw it into his face.

“It’s not that he doesn’t know the way to market us, it’s that he doesn’t know the way to market f—— anybody… In his own arrogance he’s created the hugest rival the UFC’s ever going to have because he’s so silly.”
