JULY 29: Madubuike passed his physical and has been faraway from the PUP list, the Ravens announced.
JULY 25: The Ravens are among the many teams which have made plenty of roster moves upfront of coaching camp. Six players at the moment are on the energetic/PUP list, while depth offensive lineman Corey Bullock has also been placed on the energetic/NFI list.
Baltimore announced on Saturday that defensive linemen Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones and John Jenkins were each moved to energetic/PUP. The identical can also be true of linebacker Teddye Buchanan, edge rusher Adisa Isaac and cornerback Bilhal Kone. All of them will be activated at any time.
The status of Madubuike particularly has been closely monitored throughout the offseason. His recovery progress following neck surgery has been a key talking point, with optimism increasingly emerging with respect to a return. Essentially the most recent news on that front is encouraging. Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports Madubuike has been medically cleared to take the sphere by independent doctors. That had not previously been the case, however the two-time Pro Bowler will now be in position to practice as early as next week depending on his conditioning and the extent of caution with which the team proceeds.
Madubuike was limited to only two games last season as a result of the neck injury which ultimately required a procedure. The 28-year-old’s absence was acutely felt in 2025, particularly given his impact as an efficient pass rushing presence. A serious defensive role should await him upon return, provided no setbacks are suffered throughout the summer. Buchanan is working his way back from the ACL tear which ended his rookie campaign, but a recent update from general manager Eric DeCosta indicated a return within the relatively near future must be expected.
Jones is recovering from a pectoral injury, as Zrebiec notes. A return to motion shortly is probably going in his case as well. Kone, meanwhile, missed his entire rookie yr as a result of an ACL tear. Jenkins’ injury is unknown, but he appeared in all 17 games for the Ravens last season. A depth spot behind Jones at nose tackle is on tap for 2026 after he re-signed with Baltimore on a one-year deal.
The Ravens will conduct their first training camp practice on Wednesday. Given the news regarding Madubuike particularly, they may, normally, enter the summer in strong shape on the injury front.
