UFC star Paddy Pimblett has lifted the veil on one dynamic that he shares with an MMA icon in the course of the build-up to his UFC 329 return.

Paddy Pimblett returned to motion at UFC 329 and the 31-year-old Liverpool-born fighter produced a surprising first-round win over Benoit Saint Denis in Las Vegas.

The UFC star had featured within the co-main event for Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return fight against Max Holloway on the T-Mobile Arena earlier this month.

Paddy Pimblett shows his admiration for UFC legend Jon Jones during UFC 329 in Las Vegas

Paddy Pimblett shares an in depth relationship with UFC legend Daniel Cormier, who had a heated rivalry with Jon Jones during his run under Dana White’s MMA promotion.

Nevertheless, the UFC lightweight dropped a brand new video on his YouTube channel from the build-up to UFC 329 and he crossed paths with Jon Jones in Las Vegas.

“I met Jon Jones in like 2010, 2011,” Pimblett said.

“The identical weekend that I got the image with Bruce Buffer. I met Jon Jones. Nice to satisfy him, you realize.

“I felt like I used to be playing either side here because ‘DC’ is my boy as well, but you realize, that’s nothing to do with us.

“Jon Jones is considered one of the best of all time. That’s [sic] all of the pleasure to satisfy him and have one other chat with him there. When everyone calls him the GOAT, as a fan, lad, you should be doing something right.”

MMA legend Jon Jones admits that he’s a giant fan of UFC star Paddy Pimblett

Jon Jones is commonly placed within the conversation as among the finest MMA fighters of all time after his legendary fighting profession within the combat sport.

The 39-year-old UFC legend spoke in Pimblett’s vlog and touched on his deep admiration for the MMA star, including when he becomes ‘fat Paddy’ after fights.

“For Paddy, absolutely man,” he said, before adding: “He’s an incredible personality, great fighter and [I am] absolutely a fan.

“I’m a giant fan of ‘fat Paddy.’ I like that.”

Jones retired from MMA in 2025 and vacated the UFC heavyweight title after his 2024 encounter with Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden in Recent York City.
