The Singapore outpost of the hotel brand The Standard is ready to open within the fourth quarter of 2024.
Positioned within the city-state’s prestigious Orange Grove Road, and a brief walk from the UNESCO Botanic Gardens and the famed Orchard Road shopping district, The Standard, Singapore is an eight floor property featuring 143 rooms each with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The hotel, designed by The Standard’s in-house team in collaboration with the Ministry of Design, may also feature Kaya, a Japanese izakaya style bar and restaurant, and on street-level the Café Standard bistro. Each venues shall be open to the general public.
Backed by high profile investors including Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Benicio del Toro, Andre Balazs established the unique Standard Hotel, situated on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, in 1999. In 2002, The Standard, Downtown LA, opened in the previous Superior Oil Company Constructing, with the venue becoming a magnet for Hollywood’s elite and have prominently in lots of film and TV shows, including Get Him to the Greek and Entourage.
The 2 originating properties in Los Angeles have since closed, however the brand has opened outposts in Latest York, Miami, London, The Maldives, Hua Hin (Thailand), Ibiza, and Bangkok, with recent hotels in development for Melbourne, Lisbon, Brussels, Vienna, Dublin, Dubai, Mexico and Austin.
In August, Hyatt Hotels announced it planned to accumulate Standard International and the brands inside its portfolio, including The Standard, The StandardX, The Peri, Bunkhouse Hotels and The Manner.
