Netflix is able to bring the Christmas spirit with a spicy twist within the trailer for The Merry Gentlemen released Thursday.
Within the trailer, Britt Robertson‘s character, Ashley, a former big-city dancer, is decided to avoid wasting her parents’ small-town performing venue, The Rhythm Room, from closing down. As a way of bringing in additional customers, she stages an all-male, Christmas-themed revue.
“We’re going to make this show something truly special. Something this town has never seen before,” Ashley says.
With help from Chad Michael Murray, who portrays romantic lead and contractor Luke, and others who work at The Rhythm Room, Ashley creates a brand new holiday entertainment spectacle often known as the Merry Gentlemen (think a tamer Magic Mike but for the vacations.) Though the brand new show generates excitement, sparks may fly between Ashley and Luke.
Marla Sokoloff, Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes and Marc Anthony Samuel also star.
Peter Sullivan directed the film with Sokoloff serving because the screenwriter. Jeffrey Schenck, Barry Barnholtz, Brian Nolan and Sullivan produce.
The Merry Gentlemen joins a lineup of holiday movies set to premiere on Netflix including Our Little Secret starring Lindsay Lohan, Meet Me Next Christmas starring Christina Milian and Hot Frosty starring Lacey Chabert.
The Merry Gentlemen will release globally on Netflix on Nov. 20.
