Netflix Buffering, Streaming Issues During Paul-Tyson Fight Annoy Fans

While X was crammed with fans desirous to watch the beginning of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson on Netflix, many were complaining of buffering and image issues during earlier fights, causing disappointment and an inability to maintain up with the motion.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy took to X several times through the event concerning the streaming service buffering, writing, “So the reports are in. #netflix wasnt ready for this. That is unwatchable.” and “I’m within the classic torture chamber where I cant tell if my web keeps going out or whether #netflix is just always buffering and unwatchable for everyone.”

Sports commentator Skip Bayless also weighed in on the social media platform, writing, “I’ve been having streaming issues during live motion on Netflix — and I’m dreading freezing and buffering during Paul-Tyson. I assume servers just don’t have the bandwith for the worldwide magnitude of this.”

Several Variety staffers watching the published also bumped into loading issues.

Meanwhile, “Unwatchable” and “#NetflixCrash” were trending on X during different parts of the evening.

Variety reached out to Netflix concerning the criticisms, and a spokesperson said the streamer had no comment right now.
