CM Punk Details Response To Getting Injured At The 2024 WWE Royal Rumble

CM Punk can have higher memories of this yr’s WWE Royal Rumble match in comparison with last. Although he was the third runner-up this yr, last yr’s runner-up result was overshadowed by the tricep injury he suffered in the course of the match.

When looking back on the 2024 Royal Rumble match for “WWE Playback,” CM Punk went into more detail about his injury.

“My world comes crashing down. Immediately I knew I tore my tricep. There was a couple of silver dollar hole in my tricep that I immediately sunk two fingers into so I knew it was gone,” Punk somberly recalled. “It was the other of what I desired to have occur, occur. So, now I’m coping with every kind of fun emotions.”

Punk suffered the injury while on the receiving end of Drew McIntyre’s Future Shock DDT. McIntyre, who also featured on the 2024 Rumble re-watch, understood the fear Punk went through as he has undergone someone similar, explaining how one hopes that it’s only a stinger. The Scotsman, though, still didn’t have any sympathy for Punk.

“What I’m coping with now in my head is pondering, ‘Even when I win this, I’m unsure it’s gonna matter because I feel like I’m gonna need a surgery anyway.’ So it’s sort of deflating. Like, I’m still gonna do every little thing I can to win, but I’m attempting to manage my emotions and my expectations,” Punk continued. “I do not know if I’d change anything. I do not know if it makes any sense to say I wish I never got hurt, I wish I won the Royal Rumble, I do not know. You are only given one likelihood, you mostly gotta make every little thing count and I feel even the bad stuff I made count.”
