Stephen Boss Felt ‘Silenced’ In His Own Home
In a very emotional moment, Dre shared that his brother felt unheard in certain elements of his life during an interview on “CBS Mornings” on Tuesday, February 11.
“So for my part, [from] our conversations that he had with me, he felt silenced. He couldn’t get it out,” he said.
Gayle King followed up, asking, “He felt silenced in his own residence?” to which Dre responded, “Yes, often. Often. And he loved his wife, he loved his kids. He would definitely give them his last. But in any situation wherein you may’t have a conversation and get resolve, it becomes one-sided.”

Dre elaborated further, recalling Boss’ outlook on life. “And I consider, cause you asked about their relationship, I can say that there’s many conversations that there’s no resolve. But he would all the time say to me, ‘That is life. The lights are on.’”

When asked by King about Holker’s claim that she discovered drugs inside Boss’ closet, Dre acknowledged that there was a “possibility” his brother was fighting personal battles that only his wife knew about.
Nonetheless, he also suggested that there have been elements of Boss’ life Holker may not have fully understood. “There are things that she knows that we didn’t know. But know that there are things about him that she didn’t know,” Dre explained.
Dre, who worked closely along with his brother, shared that Boss often confided in him about personal struggles, including imposter syndrome. The 2 would discuss ways to administer those insecurities, but Dre noted that these weren’t all the time conversations Boss could have along with his wife.

Holker had previously revealed in an interview with PEOPLE that she found a “cornucopia” of medicine, including mushrooms, pills, and “other substances I needed to look up on my phone,” hidden inside shoeboxes in Boss’ closet after his passing.
“I used to be with one in every of my really dear friends, and we were cleansing out the closet and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral,” Holker recalled. “It was a very triggering moment for me because there have been numerous things I discovered in our closet that I didn’t know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was a lot happening that I had no clue [about].”
